The Dreaming Dogs ruling pens are designed aiming to gather and optimize the traditional components of the tools found in the market, with the addition of new features. Their great advantage lies in a few particular and innovative features, in terms of materials and especially in the versatility of the expressive possibilities the pens offer.
Their distinctive design was meant to impart sturdiness, balance, and lightness, resulting in a comfortable grip and allowing fluid and gestural strokes.

The longitudinal folds reinforce the structure and create a larger internal area to store more ink, reducing the need to refill the pen so often. The nib opening adjustment is made by a screw and a knurled nut, allowing control of the flow of ink on the paper, and making it possible to use different kinds of inks, more viscous or more liquid, achieving several results with the same tool.
The ruling pens’ tips are crafted in stainless steel with elastic properties, a material that has excellent strength and durability. The opening adjustment, composed by a screw and a knurled nut, has an exclusive design and it was produced specially for the Dreaming Dogs ruling pens.
The wooden pen handles are handmade and completely artisanal. The wood used in the manufacture of the pen handles comes from the surplus of the furniture industry, aiming to make less damage to the environment. However, only high-quality woods were selected, providing lightness and great durability.
Since different kinds of wood are used (based on the disponibility of raw material) the pen handles may present some variations in color and texture, which makes each piece unique. This way, the sets contain woods of similar colors and are divided into three categories: light, medium, and dark. For the finishing, varnish layers waterproof it and make the pens more durable and easier to clean.
The ruling pens follow an artisanal process. Only the stainless steel tips are manufactured industrially to achieve maximum quality and effective control of their shape. The ruling pens are manually assembled, sanded, refined, polished, cleaned, and inspected individually. Thus, attention to detail, meticulous assembly, polishing, and individual testing provides superior results and a tool with excellent quality.
The Dreaming Dogs ruling pens are available in six distinct models: Sofie, Aldus, Little Lie, Layla, Leeloo, and Lollipop. Each one has its own particularity, developed based on various features and uses, such as different styles of calligraphy and handling angles. They are sold individually and on a set containing the six models.
